Step-by-step explanation:

let numbers x and y

x+y=36. 1

x-y=6. 2

adding 1 and 2

(x+y)+(x-y)=36+6

x+y+x-y=42

2x=42 x=42/2

x=21

x+y=36

21+y=36

y=36-21

y=15

Answer:

let small no.= x &

large no. = y

from condition first

2x-2y =6 eqn 1st

&

from condition 2nd

x+y=36. eqn 2nd

let multiply eqn 2nd by 2 - (for making equla eqn)

2/x+2/y=2/36

2x+2y=72 - eqn 3rd

add eqn 1st & 3rd

2x-2y=6

+ 2x+2y =76

4x=82 - ( ans of adding eqn)

x=0.04878

put value of x in eqn 2nd

x+y=36

0.04878+y=36

y= 36 - 0.04878

y = -35.95122
