two number are in ratio 3.5 if 7 add the ratio becomes 11:16 find the number

ANSWER

no 1 = x

no 2 = 3.5*x

x+7:3.5x+7 = 11:16

x+7/3.5x+7=11/16

16x+112=38.5x-77

38.5x-16x=112-77

22.5x=35

x=35-22.5

x=35/22.5

= 14/9

= 1.62
