Answer:-

Given:

Ratio of two numbers = 3 : 4

Let the numbers be 3x , 4x.

The ratio becomes 5 : 7 if 5 is subtracted from both the numbers.

According to the question,

→ (3x - 5)/(4x - 5) = 5/7

On cross multiplication we get,

→ 7(3x - 5) = 5(4x - 5)

→ 21x - 35 = 20x - 25

→ 21x - 20x = - 25 + 35

→ x = 10

Hence, the numbers are 3(10) = 30 and 4(10) = 40.
