two number are in the ratio 4:7 if their LCM is 168 find the number

Let the numbers be 4a and 7a

LCM = 168

HCF = a

We know that,

Product of numbers = LCM × HCF

=> 4a × 7a = 168 × a

=> 28a^2 = 168a

=> 28a = 168

=> a = 6


First number = 4 × 6 = 24

Second number = 7 × 6 = 42
