Answer:

Let the ratio be x

then 5= 5x

and 7= 7x

Given in the question

5x+7x= 132

12x= 132

x= 132/12

x= 11

So the numbers are 5x= 5*11= 60

and 7x= 7*12= 84

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope it's helps you:)

Here is you answer mate

Let the numbers be x and y,

Let ratio 5/7 = x/y,

making x subject of equations

x = 5y/7 ———————- (*)

NB. y is the larger number since it has higher ratio.

but x + y = 132 —————- (1)

substitute (*) in (1)

5y/7 + y = 132 ———— (2)

(5y + 7y)/7 = 132

=> 5y + 7y = 132 * 7

=> 12y = 924

=> y = 924/12

=> y = 77

and x +y = 132

thus x + 77 = 132

x = 132 - 77

x = 55
