Answer:

5,2

Step-by-step explanation:

let X be the greater number and Y be the less number.

given  X-Y=3.

⇒ 2X-2Y=6.------------(a)

 and also 3X+2Y=19-----------------(b)

add a and b.

⇒  5X=25.

      x=25/5

      X=5

substituting  X in (a) we get Y=2.

Prathamkshirsagar: please solve y=2
chaitanya92518: X-Y=3
substituting X=5 in above equation
5-Y=3
5-3=y

Heya..,

Your answer is here..,

Two numbers differ by three therefore the equation will be : x - y = 3...(1)×2

The sum of twice the number and thrice greater number is 19 therefore equation will be: 3x + 2y = 19...(2)

2x - 2y = 6

+

3x + 2y = 19

5x. = 25

x = 25/5

x = 5

put x = 5 in equation...(2)

3x + 2y = 19

3×5 + 2y = 19

15 + 2y = 19

2y = 19 - 15

2y = 4

y = 4/2

y = 2

therefore the number is x =5 and y = 2

hope its will helpful to you...
