two number in ratio 5:3 if they differ by 18 what are the number?​

Let the number be x

5x:3x

If,x-3x = 18

Then, 2x= 18

x=18/2
= 9

So 5x= 5*9 = 45
and 3x= 3*9 = 27

45-27=18

Let,

  • First Number = 5x.
  • Second Number = 3x.

It is Given that,

They differ by 18.

So,

➨ 5x - 3x = 18.

➨ 2x = 18.

➨ x = 18 ÷ 2.

➨ x = 9.

Therefore,

  • First Number = 5x = 45.

  • Second Number = 3x = 27.
