Answer=5 and 4

Explanation:-

let two numberw are X and Y

X-Y=1

X+Y=9

solve for x in frst equation

x=1+y

substitute 1+y instead of x in the second equation

(1+y)+y=9

1+2y=9

2y=8

y=4

Substitute y in any of the equation

x+y=9

x+4=9

x=5

\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\;to\;the\;Questions}}}}

Given,

\textbf{\underline{Sum\;of\;two\;number\;is\;9}}

\textbf{\underline{Difference\;is\;1}}

Assume

Number be x and y respectively

So,

x + y = 9 ....... (1)

x - y = 1 ........... (2)

\Large{\boxed{\bigstar{{Adding\;both\;Equation :-}}}}

x + y + (x - y) = 9 + 1

x + y + x - y = 9 + 1

2x = 9 + 1

2x = 10

\rm \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:x=\dfrac{\cancel{10}}{\cancel{2}}

x = 5

Hence,

\Large{\boxed{\bigstar{{First\;number= 5}}}}

\Large{\boxed{\bigstar{{Second\;number:-}}}}

x + y = 9

5 + y = 9

y = 9 - 5

y = 4

Therefore,

\huge{\boxed{\sf\:{First\;number = 5\;and\;Second\;number = 4}}}
