Let the third number be x and rest two be y and z. Then, y= x-(40% of x )= 3x/5 and z = x-(50%of x) = x/2
Consider a as the no that should be added to z to make it equal to y.
a = y-z = 3x/5 -x/2 = .x/10
Now, all you have to do is find what percentage of 2x/5 is 1x/10
This can be done as follows:
(x/10)/(x/2) × 100 = 20%
So, in order to make the second no equal to first no it should be enhanced by 20%.
