Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :

Ist number = x

II nd number = 3x

If thrice the larger number is added to twice the smaller number the sum is 55.

Thrice the larger number =

= 3x (3)

= 9x

Twice the smaller number =

= x (2)

= 2x

As per the question :

If thrice the larger number is added to twice the smaller number the sum is 55.

9x + 2x = 55

11x = 55

x = 55/11

x = 5

I st number = 5

II nd number = 3x

= 3 × 5

= 15

II nd number = 15

Hence, the numbers are 5 and 15
