$\frac{2x - 4}{3x - 4} = \frac{3}{5} \\ 5(2x - 4) = 3(3x -4) \\ 10x - 20 = 9x - 12 \\ 10x - 9x = - 12 + 20 \\ x = 8 \\ first \: number \: = 2x = 2 \times 8 = 16 \\ second \: number = 3x = 3 \times 8 = 24$
