The equation thus formed is

Let the value be x

5x-3x=18

2x=18

x=9

so,

5x=9×5=45

3x=3×9=27

Answer:

45 and 27

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. Let the numbers be 5x and 3x

     2. A/Q

                5x - 3x = 18

                 ⇒  2x    =   18

                  ⇒   x=   18/2

                   ⇒  ∴ x = 9

       3.

              so the numbers are = 5x = 5×9

                                                        = 45

                                             and = 3x = 3×9

                                                             = 27
