Given :-

• Two numbers are in the ratio 5:3

• Their difference is = 18

To Find :-

What are the numbers?

Solution :-

As per question :-

Given that,

Two numbers are in the ratio 5:3

Let the first number be = 5x

Then, the second number will be 3x.

According to the question :-

Their difference 18.

Therefore,

5x -3x = 18

⟼ 2x = 18

⟼ x = 18/2

⟼x = 9

After putting the value of x, we get

Fist number is = 5 × 9 = 45

And second number is = 3 × 9 = 27

Hence,

Fist number = 45

Second number = 27
