Given ,

• The ratio of two numbers is 5 : 6

• If 8 is subtracted from each the numbers , then the retio become 9 : 10

To find ,

• The numbers.

Salutation :-

Let , the numbers be 5a and 6a

so , according to the question ,

( 5a - 8 ) : ( 6a - 8 ) = 9 : 10

=> ( 5a - 8 ) / ( 6a - 8 ) = 9 / 10

=> 9 ( 6a - 8 ) = 10 ( 5a - 8 )

=> 54a - 72 = 50a - 80

=> 54a - 50a = - 80 + 72

=> 4a = - 8

=> a = - 8 / 4

=> a = - 2

•°• a = - 2

Now ,

The first number is ( 5a ) = 5 × ( - 2 ) = - 10

And , the second number is ( 6a ) = 6 × ( - 2 ) = - 12

•°• The numbers are - 10 and - 12
