☯︎ Question :-

  • Two numbers are in ratio 8:13 if 14 is added to each nunber the ratio becames 2:3. Find the nnumber.

☯︎ Solution :-

Let the numbers be '8x' and '13x'

A.T.Q.

 \frac{8x + 14}{13x + 14}  =  \frac{2}{3}

 =  > 3(8x + 14) = 2(13x + 14)

 =  > 24x + 42 = 26x + 28

 =  > 42 - 28 = 26x - 24x

 =  > 2x = 14

 =  > x =  \frac{14}{2}

 =  > x = 7

So, the numbers are :-

8x = 8*7 = 56

13x = 13*7 = 91

Answer:

Here is your answer

According to the given statement

Let first no. be 8x

and second no. be 13x

When 14 is added to both numbers, we get

8x +14 and 13x+14

Then the ratio becomes 2:3 ,

8x + 14 / 13x + 14 = 2/3

By Cross multiplying, we get

3(8x+14) = 2(13x+14)

24x+42 = 26x+28

24x-26x = 28-42

-2x = -14

2x = 14

x = 7

So, the first no. is 8x = 8×7=56

and the second no. is 13x = 13×7=91

Hope it helps you!

Stay safe and blessed.
