Two numbers are in ratio of 5:8 . Their sum is 200 more than their difference . Find the greater Of the two

Answer:

Let the Numbers be 5n and 8n.

According to the Question :

↠ Sum of No(s) = 200 + Difference of No(s)

↠ (8n + 5n) = 200 + (8n – 5n)

↠ 13n = 200 + 3n

↠ 13n – 3n = 200

↠ 10n = 200

  • Dividing both term by 10

n = 20

NUMBERS :

⇴ 5n = 5(20) = 100

⇴ 8n = 8(20) = 160

Greater Number among it will be 160.
