Let the two numbers be x and 2x .

According to the question,
(x+7) : (2x+7) = 3 : 5

(x+7) / (2x+7) = 3/5

3(2x+7) = 5(x+7)

6x+21 = 5x+35

6x-5x = 35-21

x = 14.

Therefore , the greater number = 2x = 2 * 14
= 28.
