Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number be x and y

x : y =1:2

2x=y

or y=2x   ....................... equation (i)

Each number is increased by 15

therefore

(x+15)/(y+15) =3/5

3y-5x=30------------ equation (ii)

deducing equation i and ii

3.2x-5x=30

6x-5x=30

x=30

First number is 30

Given :

  • Two numbers are in ratio 1:2.
  • If each of them is increased by 15 then the ratio becomes 3:5.

To Find :

  • First Number.

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:1st\:No.\:be=1x}

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:2nd\:No.\:be=2x}

Now ,

  • If each of them is increased by 15 then the ratio becomes 3:5. So ,

\longmapsto\tt{1st\:No.=1x+15}

\longmapsto\tt{2nd\:No.=2x+15}

A.T.Q :

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{1x+15}{2x+15}=\dfrac{3}{5}}

\longmapsto\tt{5(1x+15)=3(2x+15)}

\longmapsto\tt{5x+75=6x+45}

\longmapsto\tt{5x-6x=45-75}

\longmapsto\tt{-1x=-30}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{x=30}

Value of x is 30...

Therefore :

\longmapsto\tt{1st\:No.=1(30)}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{30}
