Solution :

Let the numbers be x and 3x

sum = x + 3x = 4x

But actual sum = 145

∴ ACQ

4x = 145

x = 145/4

x = 36.25

so, the numbers are

x = 36.25

3x = 3 x 36.25 = 108.75

Check: 36.25 + 108 .75 = 145
