two numbers are in the ratio 2:3.

let x = the multiplier

then

2x = the smaller number

3x = the larger

:

if 20% of the smaller number added to 20 is equal to the sum of 10% of the larger number and 25,

.2(2x) + 20 = .1(3x) + 25

.4x + 20 = .3x + 25

.4x - .3x = 25 - 20

.1x = 5

x = 5/.1

x = 50 is the multiplier

:

then the smaller is: 2*50 = 100
