Answer :–

  1. First number = 16
  2. Second number = 24

Given :–

  • Two numbers are in ratio 2:3
  • Both increased by 8
  • The ratio becomes 3:4

To Find :–

  • Find the two numbers.

Solution :–

The two numbers which is in ratio 2:3.

Let, the first number be 2x.

And the second number be 3x.

Both increased by 8,

After adding 8, we get,

 \frac{2x + 8}{3x + 8} = \frac{3}{4}

Cross multiplication,

→ 4(2x + 8) = 3(3x + 8)

→ 8x + 32 = 9x + 24

→ 32 - 24 = 9x - 8x

→ 8 = 1x

→ x = 8

Now,

  1. 2x = 2 × 8 = 16
  2. 3x = 3 × 8 = 24

Hence,

The first number is 16 and the other second number is 24.
