given ratio = 2 : 5

let the constant ratio be ' x '

so now the numbers are 2x , 5x

according to question

5x - 2x= 66

3x = 66

x = 22

therefore , the numbers are ,

2x = 2 × 22 = 44

5x = 5 × 22 = 110

Given:

Ratio=2:5

Difference=66

To find:

The numbers

Solution:

The required numbers are 44 and 110.

We can obtain the numbers by subtracting the terms in the ratio of 2:5.

Since the ratio of terms is 2:5, let the numbers be 2x and 5x.

Now, the given difference between terms=66

On equating the values, we get

5x-2x=66

3x=66

x=22

We will put the value of x to obtain the numbers.

2x=2×22=44

5x=5×22=110

Therefore, the required numbers are 44 & 110.
