Explanation,

Solution-:

Now ,

The two numbers are in ratio -: 3:4 or

3/4

So ,

The two numbers are 3a / 4a or 3a : 4a

According to the question,

If 6 is added to both terms

Then ,

We will get -: 4:5 or 4/5

Then ,

(3a + 6 ) / (4a + 6) = 4/5

5( 3a + 6) = 4 (4a + 6)

[cross multiplication]

15 a + 30 = 16a + 24

30 - 24 = 16 a - 15a

6 = a

A = 6

Now ,

The two numbers are -:

3a = 3 x 6 = 18

4a = 4 x 6 = 24

Hence ,

The two numbers are 18 and 24

Verification-:

The two numbers are 18 / 24

If we add 6 to both terms then we

get 4:5 or 4/5

18 + 6 / 24 + 6 = 4/5

24 / 30 = 4/5

4/5 = 4/5

Or ,

4:5 = 4:5

Therefore,

LHS = RHS

Hence verified
