Answer:

Let the numbers be 3x and 5x.

If 2 is added to the first number=3x+2

if 5 is added to the secnd number =5x+5.

the ratio after addition of the respective numbers become 4:7.

Explanation:

3x+5÷5x+5=4:7

3x+5 4

÷ = ÷ (cross multiplication )

5x+5 7

(3x+5)×7=(5x+5)×4

21x+35=20x+20

21x -20x=20-35

x=-5.

now by putting the value of x in 3x

3×-5=-15

similarly in 5x

5×-5=-25

the smallest number is -25.
