Two numbers are in the ratio 3:5. If 5 is subtracted from each of the number then the ratio becomes 1:2 . Find the numbers.

then

Ratio : 3x:5x

3x/5x

According to question :

3x-5/5x-5. =1/2

doing cross multiplication

2(3x-5)=1(5x-5)

6x-10=5x-5

6x-5x=-5+10

x=5

substituting in 3x

3x=3×5 =15

and in 5x

5x=5×5. = 25

Numbers are 15&25
