Answer

given that two numbers are in ratio = 3:5

5 is subtracted from each number then the ratio becomes = 1:2

let the number be = x

 \frac{3x - 5}{5x - 5}  =  \frac{1}{2}   \\   \\

cross multiply

2(3x-5) = 1(5x-5)

6x-10 = 5x-5

6x-5x = -5+10

1x=5

x= 5

then the value of 3x= 3×5=15

and the value of 5x = 5×5=25

then the two numbers are = 15 and 25
