LET THE FIRST AND THE SECOND NUMBR BE 3X AND 5X RESPECTIVELY.

3X - 9 / 5X - 9 = 12/23

BY CROSS MULTIPLICATION,

23 ( 3X - 9 ) = 12 ( 5X - 9 )

69X - 207 = 60X - 108

9X = - 108 + 207

9X = 99

X = 9

THE SECOND NUMBER = 5X = 5 × 9 = 45
