Step-by-step explanation:

Let us consider the two numbers are x and y

Given:

x/y = 3/5

x × 5 = y × 3

5x – 3y = 0………………..(1)

If 7 is added from each of the numbers then the ratio is 2:3.

x+7y+7=23

⇒ 3x + 21 = 2y + 14

Then the equation is

3x – 2y = -7……………….(2)

From equation (1)

x = 3y/5

Substituting value of x in equation (2)

3(3y/5) – 2y = -7

y = - 35

Substitute the value of y in equation (1) we get

5x – 3(-35) = 0

5x = -105

x = -21

Therefore the numbers are 21 and 35.
