hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

let the two numbers in the ratio 3:5 be 3x and 5x

therefore 3x + 5x = 64

==> 8x = 64

==> x = 64/8

==> x = 8

hence, the two numbers are :-

3x = 3 × 8 = 24

5x = 5 × 8 = 40

hope this helps..!!

Given: Ratio of two numbers = 3:5

           Sum of the two numbers = 64

To Find: The two numbers.

Solution:

Let the common factor between the two numbers be x.

∴ First number = 3x

Second number = 5x

According to the problem,

3x + 5x = 64

⇒ 8x = 64

⇒ x = 8

∴ Substituting the value of x in the numbers,

First number = 3x

                      = 3 \times 8

                      = 24

Second number = 5x

                           = 5 \times 8

                          = 40

Answer: The numbers are 24 and 40.
