Let the number be 3x and 5x

According to the Question :

 \longrightarrow \sf3x + 5x = 64

 \longrightarrow \sf \: 8x = 64

 \longrightarrow \sf \: x =  \dfrac{64}{8}

 \longrightarrow \sf \: x = 8

Hence,

 \bullet \rm \: 1st \: no. \:  = 3(8) = 24

 \bullet \rm \: 2nd \: no. \:  = 5(8) = 40
