now,
1st no. is 3x
2nd no. is 5x
now 9 is subtracted from each
new 1st no. is 3x-9
new 2nd no. is 5x-9
now,

we also write or make one equation
$3x - 9 \div 5x - 9 = 12 \div 23$
by through cross multiplication,
23x(3x-9)=12x(5x-9)
69x-207=60x-108
69x-60x=207-108
x=99/9
x=11 ans
now,put value of x=11
original no. of 1st no. =3x=3into11=33
original no. of 2nd no. =5x=5into11=55

then,ATQ
(3x-9)/(5x-9)=12/23
by cross multiplication ___
23 (3x-9)=12(5x-9)
69x-207=60x-108
69x-60x=-108+207
9x=99
×=11
hence the two numbers are (3×11)and (5×11)
therefore numbers are 33 and 55.
