Let the two numbers be x and y.

According to first condition ,

x:y=4:5

x/y=4/5

5x=4y

5x/4=y

According to the second condition ,

x^3 - y^3 = 61

x^3 - (5x/4)^3=61

x^3 -125x^3/64=61

Multiply the complete equation by 64

64x^3 -125x^3= 3904

-61x^3=3904

x^3= -64

x = -4

y = 5x/4

y=5*(-4)/4

y =-5

HOPE IT HELPS YOU. ....

THANKS

The two numbers are -4,-5.

Answer:

61/4 & 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the first number be x and second number be y:

since, two numbers are in ratio 4:5,

then,

first number=4x

second number=5y

ATQ:

4x-5y=61 ------(i)

x=5y+61/4 -------(ii)

Now, putting eq (ii) into (i), we get:

4(5y+61/4)-5y=61

20y+61-5y=61

15y=61-61

15y=0

y=0 --------(iii)

Now, putting eq (iii) into eq (ii):

x=5y+61/4

x=5(0)+61/4

x=61/4

hence, the value of two numbers x and y is 61/4 & 0, respectively.

hope it helps :)
