Let a ,b are two numbers ,
a < b,
a : b = 4 : 7
Sum of the ratio = 4 + 7 = 11
According to the problem ,
7 parts = 63
1 part = 63 / 7 = 9
Therefore ,
Smaller number = a = 4 parts
a = 4 × 9 = 36

Answer:
7 part of a number is 63,
Let the part/number be X
So, we know that 7x=63,
Then X = 63/7 which is 9
X =9
Therefore 4 part of the number is 4 × 9 = 36.
