Let x is included in the ratio.
first no. 5x.
second no. 3x.
5x- 3x= 18
2x= 18
x=9. First number=9×5=45 Second number=9×3=27.

Let the common ratio be x.

Let the two numbers be 5x and 3x.

Given that they differ by 18.

5x - 3x = 18

2x = 18

x = 9.

Therefore the numbers are 5x = 5 * 9 = 45

                                               3x = 3 * 9 = 27.

Verification:

5x - 3x = 18

5(9) - 3(9) = 18

45 - 27 = 18

18 = 18.

Hope this helps!
