Two numbers are in the ratio 5:3. If they differ by 8. what is the number?

ANSWER:-

Let the numbers be 5x and 3x

According to the questions

5x - 3x = 8

=> 2x = 8

=> X = 8/2

=> 4

Now 8 + 4 = 12

therefore the number is 12 and 4 (12 - 4 = 8)
