The smallest number is 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Two numbers are in the ratio 5:6

Let the ratio be x

So, numbers are 5x and 6x

We are given that 4 is subtracted from each,they are reduced to the ratio 4:5.

So, \frac{5x -4}{6x-4}=\frac{4}{5}

25x-20=24x-16

x=4

Numbers are :

5x=5(4)=20

6x=6(4)=24

Hence The smallest number is 20
