Given two numbers in ratio = 5 : 6,
Let the common ratio be x ,so the number becomes,
5x and 6x
According to question if seven is substracted,5x -7 and 6x-7 there ratio will become 4: 5
On cross multiplying ,
5 (5x - 7) = 4 (6x -7)
25 x - 35 = 24 x - 28
25 x - 24 x =-28 +35
x = 7
So,the numbers are,
5x = 5 ×7 =35
6x = 6× 7 = 42
