Let the two numbers be 5k and 6k

According to question, if 8 is subtracted from the fraction , then the ratio becomes 4:5

Hence,

(5k - 8)/( 6k - 8) = 4/5

→ 5(5k-8) = 4(6k - 8)

→ 25k - 40 = 24k - 32

→ 25k - 24k = -32 + 40

→ k = 8

Therefore, Two numbers are

5k and 6k = 5×8 and 6×8

= 40 and 48

Good luck.
