Let x/y = 5/6 => x = 5y/6
Again, (x - 8)/ (y - 8) = 4/5
=> x = (4y + 8)/5
So, 5y/6 = (4y + 8)/5
=> 25y = 24y + 48
=> y = 48
& x = 5 . 48/6 = 40

Solution :-

Let the ratio be 5x and 6x

5x - 8/6x - 8 = 4/5

5(5x - 8) = 4(6x - 8)

25x - 40 = 24x - 32

25x - 24x = 40 - 32

x = 8
