Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numbers be 5x and 7x.

ATQ,

\tt \implies \dfrac{5x-12}{7x-12}= \dfrac{7}{11}

Now,

\tt\implies  11(5x-12) = 7(7x-12)

\tt \implies 55x-132 = 49x-84

\tt\implies  55x-49x =132-84

\tt \implies 6x=48

\tt \implies x = \dfrac{\cancel{48}}{\cancel{6}}

\tt \implies x = 8

Original Numbers,

5x=5(8)=40

7x=7(8)=56

Hope it helps.
