Their sum = 64

      \Longrightarrow \sf 3x+5x = 64 \\\\\Longrightarrow 8x = 64 \\\\\Longrightarrow x = \dfrac{64}{8} \\\\\Longrightarrow \bf\underline {x = 8 }

Their sum = 64

According to the question :

➙ 3x + 5x = 64

➙ 8x = 64

➙ x = 8

Henceforth, the two numbers are 24 and 40 .✅
