Answer

Let the number are 5x and 6x.

5x-7=4

6x-7=5

cross multiply 25*-35=24*-28

X=7

5x=35

6x=42

Given that,

  • Two numbers are in the ratio of 5:6.

☯ Let the numbers be 5x and 6x.

⠀⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀\boxed{\bf{\mid{\overline{\underline{\bigstar\: According\: to \: the \: Question :}}}}\mid}

⠀⠀⠀

  • If 7 is subtracted from each of the number, the Ratio becomes 4:5.

⠀⠀⠀

Therefore,

⠀⠀⠀

:\implies\sf Numbers \ are \ (5x - 7) \: and \: (6x - 7) \\\\\\:\implies\sf \dfrac{5x - 7}{6x - 7} = \dfrac{4}{5} \\\\\\:\implies\sf 5(5x - 7) = 4(6x - 7) \\\\\\:\implies\sf 25x - 35 = 24x - 28 \\\\\\:\implies\sf 25x - 24x = 35 - 28 \\\\\\:\implies{\underline{\boxed{\frak{\purple{ x = 7}}}}}\:\bigstar

⠀⠀⠀

Hence,

⠀⠀⠀

  • First Number, 5x = 5(7) = 35
  • Second Number, 6x = 6(7) = 42

⠀⠀⠀

\therefore\:{\underline{\sf{Hence,\: required \ numbers \ are \: \frak{35 \: and \: 42}.}}}
