Question:

Two numbers are in ratio of 9:11 if the sum of these two numbers is 660 , find the difference between the numbers.

Solution:

It is given that,

Two numbers are in ratio of 9:11.

Thus;

Let the first number be 9x

and the second number be 11x.

Also,

It is said that,

The sum of these two numbers is 660.

Thus;

=> 9x + 11x = 660

=> 20x = 660

=> x = 660/20

=> x = 33

Thus;

First number = 9•33 = 297

Second number = 11•33 = 363

Now,

The difference between the numbers

= 363 - 297

= 66

Hence,

The required difference between the numbers is 66.

Answer:

ANSWER IS  66

Step-by-step explanation:

LET THE RATIO BE 9X AND 11X

ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION ,  9X +11 X = 660

20 X = 660

X = 660/20

X = 33

SO , 9X = 33 * 9 = 297 ;

11 X = 11 * 33 = 363 ;

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RATIO = 363 - 297 = 66;

SO , THE ANSWER IS 66 .
