two numbers are respectively 20% and 35% more than the third.what percentage is the first of the second?

Here is your answer :-):-):-)

Let third number is X.
Then first no = 20% of X = 20X/100
Second number = 50% of X = 50X/100
Percent of first no of second no,
= [(20X/100)/(50X/100)] * 100 = (2*100)/20 = 40%.
