\dfrac{x}{y}=\dfrac{2}{5}\\\dfrac{x-1}{y+1}=\dfrac{1}{3}\\\\\\5x=2y\\3(x-1)=y+1\\\\5x=2y\\3x-3=y+1\\\\5x=2y\\y=3x-4\\\\5x=2(3x-4)\\5x=6x-8\\x=8\\\\y=3\cdot 8-4=20
