From (1) we get,



X - Y = 11


X = (11 + Y )



Putting X = 11+Y in (2)



X × Y = 522



(11+y ) × Y = 522


Y² + 11y - 522 = 0



Y² + 29y - 18y - 522 = 0



y ( y + 29 ) - 18 ( y + 29 ) = 0



( y - 18 ) ( y + 29 ) = 0




( y - 18 ) = 0 or ( y + 29 ) = 9



y = 18 or Y = -29


Putting Y = 18 in,



x = 11 + y = 11 + 18 = 29.



Hence,


Two numbers are 18 and 29.
