Let one of the number be x

∴ The other number will be x + 3

Twice the smaller number = 2x

Thrice the greater number = 3(x + 3)

According to the given condition

2x + 3(x + 3) = 19

☛ 2x + 3x + 9 = 19

☛ 5x = 19 - 9

☛ 5x = 10

∴ x = 2

∴ One number ☛ x

Solution:

Let the smaller number be k.
Then, the greater number = k + 3

Smaller number, Twice = 2k
Greater number, Thrice = 3(k + 3)

Given, Sum Of that Two numbers = 19

According To The Question:

2k + 3(k + 3) = 19

⇒ 2k + 3k + 9 = 19

⇒ 5k + 9 = 19

⇒ 5k = 19 - 9

⇒ k = 10 / 5

∴ k = 2

Hence;

Smaller number = k = 2
Greater number = k + 3 = 2 + 3 = 5
