Solution

Given :-

  • Two numbers differ by 5.

  • Their sum is 19.

To Find :-

  • The two numbers.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let,

  • The first number be x

The second number be x - 5

According to the question :-

x + x - 5 = 19

2x = 19 + 5

2x = 24

x = 24/2

x = 12

Thus,

  • The first number = x = 12

  • The second number = x - 5 = 12 - 5 = 7

Hence,

The two numbers are 12 and 7 .
