----------

Let the Numbers be x and y.

According to the given question:
----------------------------------------------

x + y = -15 ......................(1)

From (1) y= -15 - x

x × y = 56

Put y = -15 - x

x ( -15 - x ) = 56

-15x - x^2 = 56

x^2 + 15x - 56 = 0

Using Middle Term Splitting ,

Splitting Factors : 8 and -7

x^2 + 8x - 7x -56 = 0

x ( x + 8 ) -7 ( x + 8 )

( x - 7 ) ( x + 8 )

x = 7 , -8

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hence the Numbers are :

➡Using +ve value of x =7

7y= 56

y = 8.

➡Using negative value of X = -8

-8y = 56

y = -7

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

⏪Numbers are -7 and -8 [ as per the Question ]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
