According to question -

Equation 1 ----
x + y = 15
x = 15 - y

Equation 2 ---
x × y = 26
Now put value of x in equation 2

15 - y × y = 26
15y - y^2 = 26
y^2 -15y + 26 = 0
y^2 -13y-2y+26 = 0
y(y- 13) - 2 ( y - 13 ) = 0

y = 13
y = 2

Now put value of y in equation 1

x = 15 - 13
x = 2
